This is extremely helpful information that I have been searching for. My creative head boss and I have been discussing the problems with creating type in photoshop, then saving the file as a jpeg for printing and still getting the hairy edges on our type. You mentioned saving the file as a pdf. but we are in a situation that our printer will only accept jpeg files. Any information on how to stop this problem when saving as a jpeg?

- JPEG is a bitmap format so the only thing you can do is create your files at the full resolution of your printer.
- Also check if either Photoshop or your printer are applying any compression.
