CFF Logo Contest 2008
The Chinatown Film Festival needs the help of talented young students! We want to involve university and school students in our one-of-a-kind cultural event by providing young people the opportunity to create our signature logo. The CFF will be holding a logo design contest starting March 23rd, 2007 and ending June 30th, 2007. The design with the most innovation and creativity will become the official logo of the CFF. This means that your work will be featured throughout the entire festival, the CFF website, and any other materials produced by the CFF.
The logo will be our festival’s visual representation, the symbolic face of our hopes and goals. It will be a vital part of the CFF’s success and will appear in major media coverage of our event. As the CFF continues to grow, our logo will be internationally synonymous with not just the events of our festival, but the purpose of our festival: connecting cultures in new and exciting ways.
Given its great importance, you can see how much of our success we are entrusting in the students who enter our contest. We could have gone to a professional Madison Avenue design firm for our logo, but we truly feel that this is the right way to go. It is our world’s young people, after all, who have the duty to carry on the tradition that CFF is so proudly a part of – bringing cultures together in celebration and understanding.
The logo must reflect the theme of our festival: “The Bridge: Connecting Cultures Through Film in the Heart of Asian Traditions.” The logo must contain an image of either a dragon or a phoenix, and must also contain writing in simplified Chinese. When designing the logo, keep in mind the theme of the festival as well as its international audience. Our logo needs to be striking and symbolic, as well as look professional.
The student with the winning logo will be awarded a scholarship valued at at least $3,000, as well as a significant amount of acknowledgment for creation of the logo. The school with the winning contestant will receive hefty recognition and gain worldwide exposure. An event will be held during the festival to celebrate the best logo contest submissions. This is your chance to be showcased at a big art event!
The CFF Logo Contest guidelines are described below. All submissions must follow the guidelines or they will not be accepted.
Students must submit their artwork along with the signed “Logo contract” and completed submission form to the Chinatown Film Festival no later than June 30th, 2007. The “Logo contract” and submission form may be downloaded from the CFF website and printed on plain paper. The logo may be emailed to
If you mail us a printed version of your logo, please save a copy of your design, as we will need this information in the future. The “Logo contract” may also be completed and signed electronically. Contracts completed in this fashion may be emailed to
Logos will be judged by a panel of CFF board members and the winning design will be announced in July 2007. An event will be held during the film festival in October 2008, showing the 50 best logo submissions. For more information about the scholarship, please contact the CFF staff at

hi, i sent my Logo to the email address submissions@cff2008.org and i don’t know if my email received by you. I got this email from you thanking for my participation, but at the same time, i got another email saying the following:
“We’re sorry. There’s a problem with the e-mail address(es) you’re trying to send to. Please verify the address(es) and try again. The e-mail message could not be delivered because the user’s mail folder is full.”
what shall I do? did you get my Logo, Contract and Submission Form correctly? if you didn’t, you have to clear up some space, in order to get more participations… the time is running out, and i have spent a lot of time on this, too much not to participate just because of some technical problem!
i’ll be waiting for your reply…
